Girls JV Lacrosse Marlborough 3 Tyngsboro 13
Center Erin Doherty led the Panther attack, scoring twice in the game against Tyngsboro on Thursday, April 17th. Midfielder Maria Mendes added a goal of her own to add to Marlborough's total. Alli Zouharis, Itzel Moreno and Cassandra Pierre had a great day on offense. Ana Laura Miranda did very well on the defensive end. Despite the loss, the team kept a positive attitude and worked well together as a team.

The Marlborough Boys' Volleyball team improved to 3-5 buy defeating the Blue Devils from Leominster (3-4)
25-18, 25-22 ,25-14. The Panther's were lead by Junior Devin Clemmons with 8 kills and 5 blocks and by Sophomore Nayonni Moreira who had 2 kills and 8 blocks. Junior Connor Bailey also had a great game for the Panthers. The Panther's will travel to Worcester to play Doherty on Tuesday.
GIRLS VARSITY LACROSSE
The MHS girls varsity lacrosse team dropped a heartbreaker to Tyngsboro on Thursday 4/17 by the score of 13-12. With the score tied Tyngsboro scored with 47 seconds left for the victory. Mackenzie Little had 5 goals in the loss. Nikki Carter and Sarah Hanahan scored two apiece while Nicole Coulombe,Alexa Galliac and Ashley Smalls each had one goal. Megan McDonough had 8 saves in the contest. Julia Valianti,Alana Basquiat,Jayna Dixon, and Ashley Smalls turned in strong defensive efforts.

Kayley Cote pitched four great innings for the Panthers allowing only 4 hits and 4 strikeouts. Mariah Berry was solid at the plate hitting two doubles and Liv Larson was a triple short of hitting the cycle.

Alyssa Monti had a great day going 2 for 4 and 2 huge plays in the field for the Panthers. Julia Brooks and Liv Larson went 3 for 4 and Julia Seymour went 2 for 3. Great plays in the field by Kayley Cote, Meghan Taylor, and Mariah Berry.

The Marlborough boys volleyball team lost a tough match to the Mountaineers of Wachusett 3-1 in the field house on Wednesday. The game scores were: 25-18 25-14 25-27 and 25-7. Jon Maciel lead the Panthers with 10 kills and Joe Tirpak had 6 kills of his own. The Panthers are now 2-5 and will travel to Leominster tomorrow.

The Marlborough JV volleyball team lost to Wachusett Wednesday night 2-0 (25-16, 25-14). Although the effort was there, the boys came out empty handed with only six available players. Russel Giordano and Andrew Keenan were key in Marlboroughs efforts. They travel to Leominster today in hopes of finding their fourth win.

The Marlborough High School Baseball Team beat Algonquin Wednesday 9-3. Kevin Scerra was the winning pitcher giving up only 4 hits in 5 innings. Nick Keymont came in during the 5th inning to hold Algonquin to 3 runs. He also struck out the side in the 7th. Marclo Cunha has 3 hits and 2 RBIs and Chris Coppola scored 3 rimes for Marlborough. The varsity baseball team's record is 4 wins and 1 loss for the season. They play North Middlesex at 3:30 home Friday.
Marlboro Girls Track Meet – 4/16 – Groton-Dunstable 85, Marlboro 60
The Marlboro Girls Track team lost a competitive meet to Groton-Dunstable by a score of 85-60. Erin Giugno (2 Mile, 400) and Michaela Orentlich (Shot, Discus) were double winners. Other event winners were Cassidy Grace (100 hurdles), Madyson Plante (High Jump), Jill Caiazzi (Mile), and Michelle Gordon (400 hurdles). Giugno, Caiazzi, Plante, and Grace also scored second places, and other MHS scorers included Hannah Mackay and Emily Dickson. New state qualifiers for the Panthers were Giugno in the 2 mile and Gordon in the 400 Hurdles.

The JV Panthers won their 3rd straight Monday at Westboro behind a solid complete game performance from Mike Gould. Extra base hits provided by Liam Shanahan, Kevin Murphy, and Andrew West. Zac Huaman continued to deliver RBI's and Spencer Geary also had a timely RBI.

Great win and confidence builder for our team, winning 16-0 over Fitchburg, Goalie Gatzunis has his first shutout of the season with 25 saves. Oustandanding offensive games from Our attack combining for 9 goals 7 assists. Defensively Jon Burke as well as the rest of our defensive players stepped up. Winning the face off and ground ball battles were nice to see.

Kevin Falvey started the game earning the win with Cam Plank behind the plate. Zac Huaman was 3-3 with a couple RBI's. The JV Panthers overall record 2-1. Solid play in the field was the difference highlighted by Mike Gould's put outs at shortstop. Chris Brier also made an over the shoulder catch in foul territory.

The Marlboro Boys' Volleyball team was defeated by Milford last night 3-0 25-5, 25-8, 25-8. The runner up in the state finals were running on all cylinders as the cruised to the victory. Standouts for Marlboro were Alex Trombetta, Joe Tirpak, and Jake Monfalcone. The Panthers will play Clinton at home on Monday.

Girls JV Lacrosse Marlborough 5 Hudson 7
The jv girls lacrosse team lost a close game to Hudson on Friday, April 11th. The Panthers were off to a good start, with Viv DaSilva scoring off a defensive break away. Kylie Navarro and Erin Doherty added a goal of their own during the first half. Although Marlborough struggled during the second half, both Viv DaSilva and Erin Doherty were able to add another goal apiece. Liz Cronin handled the ball well behind the net and Tayisha Marinho set a couple of key screens for her teammates. Amber Pierre displayed some nice footwork on the defensive end. Olivia Servaes was goal keeper for the Panthers.
